UK School Games

In the build up to the Olympics in 2012, The UK School Games will be an annual event and will showcase the talent of the best players throughout the United Kingdom. This is an exciting time for the development of schools table tennis in Scotland, and I hope everyone will get behind the committees efforts in raising the profile of schools table tennis in Scotland.

Scottish Schools Finals (Secondary Schools)

Entry to the Scottish Schools Finals which are normally held in March/April each year is via Regional Qualifying tournaments. These are organised by Table Tennis Scotland's Local League Co-ordinators and you should watch this page or get in touch with your Local League Co-ordinator for details. Please note that normally only the top 4 players in each age group from each region can go forward to the Scottish Schools Finals

Results from the Finals are used to make selections to represent Scottish Schools at the Senior Schools International Championships usually held during the last weekend in June.

Scottish Primary School Championships

The Scottish Schools section of Table Tennis Scotland organises an annual tournament for youngsters of Primary School age. The event which will be held in November is used as vehicle for selecting a boys and girls team of 4 players each to represent Scottish Primary Schools in the Primary Schools International Championships. Our representatives compete against teams from England, Wales, Ireland, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Scottish Schools Team Championships

This will be a new concept for the schools section of Table Tennis Scotland for season 2007-2008. Team must ensure that all players are from the same school. It is hoped that a high response will be received for this new event. More information will be available from league Co-Coordinators in due course.

World Schools Championships

This is an event that Scotland has never competed in, and the committee is looking at the possibility of entering teams into this event. The next event will be held in Malta in 2008.
