Kay Lee, Renee Ho, Johnny Singleton and Keir Morton attended this event with Team Captain Gordon Duff. Kay and Renee fought their way through to the Junior Girls final where Kay won in four against her team mate.

First on in the Cadet Boys were Johnny and Keir
Keir comfortably beatt A Kent 11-7,11-7,11-9 but lost to Adam Barlow 5-11,9-11, 5-11. This was enough however to see him through to round 2 on count back as A Kent also bt A Barlow 3-0.
Johnny lost both his games to go out in the group stage mainly due to inconsistency
In round 2 Keir came up against No2 seed Matthew Leete who proved too strong winning 3/0.

Minor Boys
Keir came up against a strong group including the powerful No1 seed Alec Ward(CV) (also No I
in Cadets and Juniors)
Keir bt K Young 11-4,11-8,11-2

Keir lost A Ward 5-11,6-11,2-11
In the next round Keir bt C Eliot 11-9,8-11,11-7,11-8(3-1) to go into the quarter finals where he lost to the number 2 seed M Leete 5-11,7-11,6-11.

Junior Girls
There were 2 strong groups of 4
Kay Lee won all her games in the group with all 3 struggling with Kay's mix of push/control/big forehands

A Webb 11-6,11-3,11-8
Renee had a tougher afternoon but again won all her 3 matches beating
K Barlow 9-11,14-12,13-11,11-13, 11-5(3-2)
E Davidson(CV) (No2) 12-10,11-8,9-11,11-9.(3-1)
H Williams 11-6,11-5,11-7 (3-0)

A nail biting junior event thus far

In the final Renee faired similar to her predecessors going down 3-1 to the ever improving Kay by
12-10,10-12,11-9, 11-3
It was a good feeling seeing the girls fending off a very strong home contingent to fight out the final both for Dumfries and Scotland. We now have to go back to defend the title. Both boys also playing well/gaining experience against very useful/technically good opponents.
